What a great day I had on Sunday. Many wonderful things and one of the greatest moment of all was having the children gather around for lesson on
the Constitution.

I had a ton of fun at the Stone Crab Festival yesterday and will be there today to...

I am on my way back for the last and final day at the Stone Crab Festival but I could not go before posting some of the fun from yesterday on my blog page just for you:

 

 

This is how you have fun and earn funds for getting those Constitution booklets for the 200,000 fifth grade students in Florida as well. Please come out on this last day and have some while helping us reach the goal of getting a Constitution booklet in the hands of the entire fifth grade population of students her in Florida.

The party is on my friends! Downtown Naples is buzzing with the Stone Crab Festival.

Many thanks to Lois Bolin for giving the free space at the Stone Crab Fest which started last night,
Friday, October 23, 2015 and will continue until Sunday and I will have a booth each night.

We are going to get those 200,000 Constitution booklets in the hands of our youth and below is one of the major reason why:

It is truly on! I hope to see all of you out again today (Saturday, October 24, 2015) I will be under the bridge along side American Legions. Thanks for stopping by my station.

Joseph Cofield In addition to the bracelets, I will have Constitution booklets with every dollar earned going directly to reaching the goal of having 200,000 Constitution booklets in the hands of our students. Thanks Lois for giving me this opportunity.

 

It is all about the Constitution, our youth and the future of our nation. Therefore, I will stand these three days until I can stand no longer. Will you make the same commitment and take advantage of helping me reach the goal of getting those 200,000 Constitution booklets to our youth of Florida.

 

During this Stone Crab Festival, I believe over 20,000 people will have shown up for this event. I believe with your support we can get a great part of those 200,000 Constitution booklets for our youth.

I completed the 27 miles across the 67 Counties of Florida. Now you can come out and help me get these bags in the hands of the citizens so that they can get a bag and donate a bag to our children for a donation of only $10.00.

 

In the older days when I learned math, I believe that it went something such as this! A person can purchase one either the blue or red pack back for $10.00. The person will receive a nice bag and one will be given to a student from any school district in the State of Florida the person decides. I will make the selection of the school if you cannot or will not decide.

 

Your $10.00 has now made it possible for 10 of the 200,000 fifth grade students of Florida to have a free Constitution booklet for their own personal use in order to use at school, at home, within the community. What a great way to expand the knowledge of the Constitution, share with the teachers, learn with family and friends, and prepare for a brighter future.

 

Your contribution of time, talent, and teamwork will make getting those 200,000 Constitution booklets possible. After traveling across the entire State of Florida, I am still committed to pushing my body until our youth have those Constitution booklets. 

 

I will see you at the Stone Crab Festival downtown Naples near Tin City (where I get my Stone Crab last nigh) and you will find my station under the bridge between Pinchers Crab Shack and the other side of the river with all the other booths.

My journey across Florida ended and my teaching of the Constitution now starts...

Many of you asks what motivates Joseph to travel across the huge State of Florida doing 27 miles in each of the 67 Counties!

Those of you who have been following my blogs and webpage you have a little idea. Now the entire State of Florida and every educator will know.

My teaching of the Constitution starts full force now because I have sown the seed and time for me to continue my work.

Please pass the word that those who do not visit my blog page or webpage will be missing out because I am starting to do what I was call to do in life and that is to teach.

 

My greatest joy after leaving the military completing a wonderful twenty one year (21) career was being part of the Troops to Teachers program and start teaching in the Public Education School System. I have now found my niche in the Educational World and that is teaching, promoting, and living the Constitution.

My visit at Gilchrist School District and Trenton Elementary School...

Part Two of my visit to Gilchrist Public School District.

Superintendent Robert G. Rankin and I had a great talk about what makes this school district so special.

Assistant Principal Rhonda Adkins, Trenton Elementary School shared with me some of the secrets that won her school and district the best in Florida.

Connie Hodge, Food Service Manager of Trenton Elementary School. Connie goes all out for her students and staff at the elementary school. What a great fit this is for everyone.

New Items from the 27 -67 Warehouse...

Many people have been asking how do I get those bracelets, tee shirts, back packs, and 27 - 67 Constitution booklets.

Well you need not look any longer, I have now completed the entire State of Florida. I have started coordinating with the school districts to get each of our fifth grade students Constitution booklets.

It now leaves me with some time to let you know how to get some or all of those 27 -67 items:

I hade the great honor of visiting the number one school district in the State of Florida according to the national ranking from the Federal Department of Education and MSN.

I believe this is no doubt that the Gilchrist School District is one of the best school district not only in the Florida but the entire nation.

I was so impressed with Trenton Elementary School that our Liberty Day Institute of Florida donated 700 of the nice pack bags for each of the 700 students and teachers as well as 120 of the Constitution booklets to the fifth grade students.

What a well deserving bunch of dedicated students, teachers, staff members, and administration. Everyone at Trenton Elementary School starting with the parents who have committed and put their trust in school to take care of their children and provide the best for them.

I you have time on your hand go visit Ms. Hodge and his cafeteria and you will start getting a feel of how special this little school truly is.

Do you know...

This is the honor system now! Please do not cheat.

I normally give a statement of fact that should be well knew but people tend to forget.

If you are a true Floridian, you will get this question right away.

On December 3, 1838, in order to prepare for statehood, it was necessary for the 56 delegates to meet and have a convention. Many people know that Philadelphia is where Constitution Convention was held for our United States Constitution. Please be the first to share with me:

The town where the Florida's first State Constitution Convention was written?

Did you know that only three (3) of the 56 delegates were natives of Florida. The others were natives of 13 of the Union's 26 states at that time. Interesting enough, you may want to know that four of the delegates came from foreign countries.

The Wait is Over...Mission Accomplished...

Finally with many thanks to my great friend Jim Dupre, I can now get behind my computer again and continue my blogging!

Before I begin my blog, I want to give thanks to God, my wife, my family, my friends, and all of my supporters who believed that I would complete this mission. I also want to thank those who did not believe and now see that nothing is impossible with God and a person who is willing to do what is required for success.

I actually started this journey almost two years. I completed the Kentucky Derby Marathon on April 19, 2014 and the Marine Crops ("The People's Marathon") Marathon in October 2014; thus, I knew that I could complete 27 miles in each of the 67 Counties of Florida.

What one must have to do in order to convince your wife that you can do run six miles and cycle 21 without any problems! I share this with my readers because not only having to convince my wife and showing her proof that I can do this journey across Florida; I had to convince my wonderful doctors in Dr. Luis Pozniak and Dr. Jonathan Jay along with their staff that I had fully recovered from my kidney removal and battle with cancer since 2008.

I share this to help you the reader understand how special this is to me to complete this journey and establish for me and others my commitment to our youth in their mastery of the Constitution and Civic Education.

As much as I enjoyed the accomplishment of this mission,  I am well aware that my final goal is no way completed. The accomplishment of completing 27 miles in each of the 67 counties was just one major step in this life journey.

I will continue knocking on the door until the 200,000 plus fifth grade students of Florida has a Constitution booklet in their hands.

My mentor and great friend Dr. Robert J. Safransky continued as he has always pushed me to another level just when I figured that I have done what was required. He said, "Joseph, do you remember what you said got you through basic training as a young man; 'Good better best never let me rest until my good is better and my better is best' it is not about what you have done so far is much better than most will ever accomplish, but rather, your best is yet to come."

I will continue to ring the bell and knock on the doors of every educational leader and educational policy maker until our youth have the proper resources for their success. I know that it is not only the best and proper thing to do but as I read my scriptures and the recommendation given to me by my mentor I knew that my best was just to come.

If you have followed my blogs over the past months, you are aware that I love to give you quotes to inspire you. I believe that this one below is perhaps one of the best you will ever read that I will share with you:

"And I tell you, ask and you will receive, seek and you fill find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
